Job Description
In the heart of the East End of London is our popular first opinion Mile End practice, and they are looking for a vet to jump in and take the lead in this senior position.
About your new role!
Mile End has a VERY nice surgical caseload, and they are looking for a senior vet to help lead their growing team. We are very excited as we are approaching a new era in Mile End, with new colleagues joining by Autumn and completing the existing team, with our full-time RVN starting in August, our part-time vet and full-time Senior RVN starting in October and November.
The rota for this role involves a 4-day week with alternating Mondays and Tuesdays off shared with your full-time second vet. The average 40.4 hours per week is inclusive of a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:8 hospital Sunday rotation. You will be rota 'd to up to 2 bank holidays per year in Wanstead and be involved in an on-call rotation. The 40.4 hours also includes approximately 6 short add-on twilight shifts per year.
You will be fully supported by a highly experienced regional manager, whose support is invaluable to her branches, as well as regional head vet for clinical management support if this is your first senior role.
You will also have the support of our flagship 24-hour hospital in Wanstead, who provide OOH care and support for more complex cases and procedures.
Mile End is situated in an ideal part of London, it has a bustling restaurant and bar scene, is close to famous Victoria Park and is within a single 35-minute train journey straight through to rural Essex and Epping Forest, where you will be spoilt for choice for country pubs. Your nearest tube station is just a 5-minute walk away.
This is a meaty role, and we looking for a senior vet who is ready to get chewing…so to speak!
Now let’s get to the nitty gritty, here is what we offer you:
Our senior vet salary band is £64,000 to £85,000 (FTE) depending on experience and allowing room for growth within the role.
A little snippet of the benefits you will receive as a Goddard vet:
– 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays
– Generous relocation assistance (where applicable)
– Up to £2,000 CPD budget every year plus up to 5 days' paid CPD leave
– Private Medical Healthcare Insurance with Bupa
