About your training
Our Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing is a professional qualification that combines classroom learning with practical, hands-on experience in an approved veterinary practice.
Throughout your training, you'll develop the knowledge, confidence and clinical skills needed to become a qualified RVN.
You'll gain experience across a range of clinical areas, including:
- Anaesthesia: Preparing for, monitoring and supporting patients during anaesthesia.
- Radiography: Developing your knowledge and practical skills in diagnostic imaging.
- Theatre: Building your experience in surgical nursing and patient preparation.
- Laboratory work: Learning how to carry out diagnostic tests and support clinical investigations.
- Patient care: Developing your nursing skills and understanding of patient welfare.
You'll be supported by experienced veterinary teams and dedicated training colleagues who will help you put your learning into practice.
What are we looking for?
To be considered, you'll need to have successfully completed your Level 2 Veterinary Care Support qualification and be ready to progress onto Level 3 training.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about animal welfare and delivering excellent patient care.
- Enthusiastic about learning and developing their clinical skills.
- Organised, reliable and able to balance practical work with academic study.
- A confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.
- Committed to developing a long-term career in veterinary nursing.
Where could this qualification take you?
Successfully completing your Level 3 Diploma will put you on the pathway to registering with the RCVS as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).
It's a challenging but incredibly rewarding journey, giving you the skills and confidence to build a career in a profession where no two days are quite the same.
The practical details
- Start date: February and April 2027
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, including a weekly college day, plus a regular weekend rota.
- Salary:£26,437
- Annual leave: 6.6 weeks, including bank holidays.
Weekend and bank holiday requirements vary by location. You may also need to work at other nearby branches when required.
