Registered Veterinary Nurse in London

London Full-Time On-site
G

Location: Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital (Wimbledon)

Love a busy hospital? Enjoy a bit of pressure? Prefer your working days to have more variety than a tennis rally? Then Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital might just be your next match.

Nestled in the heart of Wimbledon Village , around a 10-minute walk from Wimbledon Junction station, giving you easy access to the District Line and the rest of London, our 24-hour hospital is looking for an RVN to join our large and experienced nursing team. This is a rare opportunity to join Stone Lion, and RVN roles here don't come up often, so if you're thinking "I’d love to have a look at this one"... consider that your ball is officially in our court.

The Rota

This is a full-time rolewith a 1:4 full weekend rota, 1-2 bank holidays per year .

And before you start wondering whether we're going to make you play five sets every weekend... you'll get TOIL for your weekends worked. There isno on-call requirement for this role

What will you be getting yourself into:

Stone Lion is a very busy 24-hour hospital with a varied caseload covering routine procedures, emergency and critical care, alongside internal referrals from surrounding Goddard practices.

You’ll get plenty of opportunity to get stuck into:

  • Theatre and anaesthesia
  • Inpatient care and procedures
  • Consult support
  • Emergency and critical care
  • Keeping everything clean, organised and ready for the next patient
  • Acting as Charge Nurse on weekends when required

And because no two days in a hospital are quite the same, you'll have the chance to work across different areas rather than being permanently positioned in one end of the building.

Stone Lion also has a fantastic range of expertise on site, including orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, dermatology and physiotherapy , as well as all the facilities you'd expect from an RCVS Accredited 24-hour hospital. We're also ISFM Silver Award Cat Friendly, because our feline patients have made it very clear that they expect standards.

Who are we looking for:

We're looking for an RVN with good hospital and anaesthesia experience, who enjoys a busy environment and likes being part of a proper team. Perhaps you're already an experienced hospital RVN looking for your next challenge.

Or maybe you've been working in first opinion for a while and are ready to take your nursing skills to the next level.

What’s on offer:

  • 6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays
  • CPD budget every year + up to 2 days' paid CPD leave
  • Private medical healthcare scheme at a reduced rate
  • Medical cashback incentives

Think this could be your next match:

If you're an RVN who thrives in a hospital environment, loves a varied caseload and wants to join a genuinely experienced team, we'd love to hear from you.

  • 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro-rata if part-time)
  • 2 days paid CPD leave every year (pro-rata if part-time)
  • Relocation assistance (where applicable)
  • Generous colleague introduction reward (for the introduction of vets and RVN’s)
  • 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme
  • RCVS and BVNA fees covered
  • The opportunity to join our private medical insurance scheme at a reduced rate, as well as a medical cashback plan involving refunds on many routine medical costs such as dental care, physiotherapy, optician, chiropractic fees, and more
