Goddard Recruitment are a specialist education recruitment agency supporting schools across Leeds and the surrounding areas. We are currently recruiting experienced School Finance Officers to support schools on a temporary and interim basis, providing cover during absences, vacancies or peak workload periods. These roles arise periodically throughout the academic year, with immediate starts often available.
About the Role
As a School Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the schools' financial operations, ensuring accurate financial management and compliance with school and local authority procedures. This role would be particularly well suited to experienced or former school finance staff who are looking to keep a hand in the education sector on a flexible or interim basis.
Key Responsibilities (Duties will vary depending on assignment)
- Processing invoices, orders and payments in line with financial procedures
- Monitoring budgets and supporting budget tracking and reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations
- Supporting payroll processes and liaising with payroll providers where required
- Assisting with procurement and contract administration
- Supporting audit preparation and financial compliance
- Responding to finance-related queries from staff and suppliers
About You
- Previous experience in a school finance or finance officer role is essential
- Good understanding of school finance procedures and budget management
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Confident using financial systems and spreadsheets
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
