The role involves being responsible for the day-to-day execution of our critical payment processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant reconciliation and transaction handling across the globe. Payment Operations is a core part of GoCardless, ensuring money gets from A to B every day. This is an opportunity to get an excellent understanding of the Payments industry and to build your knowledge of bank payments across the world. You will learn how to navigate issues and bring them to resolution while being trained and supported by our growing Operations team in Riga.
What excites you:
- Ensuring timely, accurate and compliant payment processing and taking care of any manual interventions required.
- Being responsible for reconciling our transaction movements to our bank account statements ensuring any anomalies are reported promptly.
- Reviewing, processing and where appropriate challenging chargebacks, including evidence gathering and manual submission.
- Responding to tickets and ad-hoc queries from internal stakeholders about payment statuses.
- Interacting with a number of different teams globally such as Customer Support, Risk and Compliance, Product and Engineering, to tackle our account reconciliations and customers' payment queries.
- Interacting also with external parties such as banks and suppliers to resolve issues.
- Raising, participating in and leading incidents that affect payment processing and/or reconciliation, ensuring no breaches of our customer, banking partner, scheme or regulatory commitments.
- Participating in a scheduled on-call rotation to resolve critical payment incidents.

We understand this is a hybrid role based in our Riga office, with a requirement to be onsite 3 days per week, working core hours of 10:00 - 19:00 EET.
Base salary range: €1,867 - €2,800 gross, per month. Base salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data. Please note that while we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the mid-point (€1,867 - €2,333 gross, per month) of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role. Offers will take into account level of experience, interview assessment, budgets and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work.
