This role is part of GoCardless, a global bank payment company that collects and sends payments through direct debit, real‑time payments, and open banking. We process over US$130bn of payments annually across 30+ countries, helping customers manage recurring and one‑off payments with AI‑powered solutions to improve success and reduce fraud. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join GoCardless in our London office as an Engineering Manager. In this role you will:
- Lead talented and creative engineers in the Growth Group to build features and experiments to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention;
- Work closely with Product Managers and Product Designers to translate growth goals into actionable technical roadmaps;
- Partner with Growth Marketing to define and execute growth initiatives;
- Push for exceptionally high‑quality engineering work whilst moving at a fast pace.

- Full‑stack engineering background – whilst this role is not hands‑on, we seek someone familiar with full‑stack technologies and practices to lead teams to build reliable, well‑tested systems;
- Previous experience leading engineering teams and readiness to take on challenging teams;
