About the Role

Our client is looking to appoint Health Care Assistants based within their Care Home in Hamilton to provide compassionate and personalised care for service users, enhancing their quality of life in accordance with their individual needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Offer tailored care that meets the unique needs of each resident.
  • Understand the impact of care on residents and their families.
  • Assist residents with daily care tasks, promoting independence wherever possible.
  • Engage residents in activities to enrich their daily experiences.
  • Ensure continuity of care by reading and understanding individual Care Plans.
  • Accurately complete and maintain documentation, including notes on food/fluid intake, positioning, and significant events.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the rights of individuals.
  • Perform various tasks within the Care Team, including:
    • Care for residents' clothes and personal belongings
    • Bed making (both empty and occupied)
    • Assisting with movement, dressing, and personal hygiene
    • Skin care and management of pressure areas
    • Assisting with toileting needs
    • Escorting residents as required
    • Serving meals and drinks, assisting those who need help
    • Recording any necessary individual information, such as turn/tilt charts and fluid balance
    • Observing and reporting any changes in residents' conditions
    • Understanding and adhering to individual care plans

Additional Responsibilities

  • Be a valued member of the Key Worker scheme.
  • Promote and represent the home positively.
  • Read, understand, and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Ideally working towards or hold an SVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care
  • An understanding of National Care Standards and Codes of Conduct
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Have a passion to deliver high levels of care at all times.
  • SSSC Registration or willingness to register within the specified timescale.
