We are looking for a 2nd Cook/ Chef to join our client's dedicated catering team in their residential Care Home in Coatbridge. Working 40 hours over a 5 day rota between 7am and 7pm. This role offers a great work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, plan and cook meals to a consistently high standard, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the home.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and ordering of supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established procedures.
  • Adhere to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • City & Guilds (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking
  • Basic Food Hygiene (essential)
  • Intermediate Food hygiene (desirable)
  • Previous experience working as a Cook/ Chef (essential)
  • Previous experience in a similar environment (desirable)
  • Menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control and budget (desirable)
