A role is available to support safety, health, environment and quality across fibre build teams. The work will cover two businesses in the Southwest and South Wales. The role will help shape a positive culture and support safe ways of working, reduce harm, support better health, prevent damage to services, and promote safer driving.
The role will guide how teams build networks, support a right-first-time approach, help fix problems, and encourage better ways of working. It will assist teams in improving over time and support care for the environment, helping to reduce carbon and improve performance while raising standards and controlling risk.
The role will also support safe work near homes and businesses, manage risk, and ensure the right controls are in place to protect people and property.
A NEBOSH qualification is needed, along with experience in telecoms or utilities. You will bring a strong background in health, safety, environment and quality, having worked in this field for several years. You will understand how to manage risk and support safe ways of working, and be accustomed to working with teams to help them improve.
You will hold a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate and may be working towards a NEBOSH Diploma. A management qualification is also desirable. You will be a Certified Member of IOSH or working towards this, and may be aiming for Chartered Membership or hold an equivalent grade with another professional body.
Additionally, you will have at least seven years of experience after gaining your health and safety qualification, using this time to build your knowledge and apply it in real settings. You will understand how to support others and help them follow the right steps.
