A role is available to support safety, health, environment and quality across fibre build teams. The work will cover two businesses in the South West. The role will help shape a positive culture and support safe ways of working, reduce harm, support better health, prevent damage to services, and promote safer driving.

The role will guide how teams build networks, support a right-first-time approach, help fix problems, and encourage better ways of working. It will assist teams in improving over time and support care for the environment, helping to reduce carbon and raise performance standards while controlling risk.

The role will also support safe work near homes and businesses, manage risk, and ensure the right controls are in place to protect people and property.

A NEBOSH qualification is needed, along with experience in telecoms or utilities.

What you'll bring:

  • A strong background in health, safety, environment and quality.
  • Several years of experience in this field, particularly in telecoms or utilities.
  • Understanding of risk management and supporting safe ways of working.
  • Experience working with teams to improve their processes.
  • A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, with potential progress towards a NEBOSH Diploma.
  • A management qualification may also be held.
  • Certified Member of IOSH or working towards this, with aspirations for Chartered Membership or equivalent grade with another professional body.
  • At least seven years of experience after gaining your health and safety qualification, applying knowledge in real settings.
  • Ability to support others in following the right steps.
