As an As Laid Technician, you will support the Programme and Operational Team and work as part of our contract providing support to ensure that the company’s work is effectively recorded for the purposes of financial auditing and tracking, future network planning, maintenance and service assurance. The as‑laid information must contain accurate and detailed instructions to accomplish the task of recording and tracing the full (end-to-end) network.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with the Project Team ensuring they are capturing data and providing locations of all new plant, which will be measured and referenced relative to the as‑planned civils or as‑planned cable drawings.
- Input manual data which is required for accurate input to the GIS system.
- Document red line drawings that have recorded physical civils route and highlighting on the Clients planned civils drawing.
- Document and record physical cable route highlighted on the Client’s planned cable drawing.
- Document and record all duct, chamber and cabinet locations, with three‑point measures (where possible) including cable ID, cable length etc.
- Document all records of joint locations (including joint ID), loop locations and length of loop.
- Document all records of swept tee and toby location changes from the planned duct and sub‑duct record.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience working in the Utilities industry is not required as training will be provided.
- Basic experience of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to prioritise workload, multi‑task and work under tight time pressures.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Logical mind.
- Must have a full UK driving licence.
