Site Supervisor – Capital Works

Department: South Staffs Water

Compensation: £35,000 / year

Description

As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for resources associated with the repair and maintenance of the waste water network across specific network areas for our client.
You will supervise operational repair and maintenance support to resolve issues such as poor supplies, no water, leaks and water quality issues. Types of activities include repairing burst mains, leak repair, stop tap repairs, installation of equipment, investigations / tracing supplies. You will provide operational leadership – ensuring that the work is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to our client’s expectations. In addition to Health and Safety, customer service is critical to the client.
Satisfaction of customers is measured through a new regulatory measure called C-MeX. You will work closely with the client to influence a dramatic improvement in the C-MeX measure and show leadership skills to genuinely care about the ratings customers give of Network Plus’s metering services.
You will work with the scheduling team to ensure repair and maintenance work is delivered on time according to the schedule. You will be expected to communicate with customers who are impacted by our work, as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • We are looking for someone to have operational supervisory responsibility for water repair and maintenance teams, and their daily activities
  • We are looking for someone to organise labour in the most cost-effective way, including recruitment, disciplinary action, wages and absence management
  • We are looking for someone to manage all other resources e.g. materials and plant
  • We are looking for someone to ensure accurate information is captured of works undertaken, including photographs and meter asset details
  • We are looking for someone to regularly visit teams at local site level – reviewing progress and performance and ensuring standards are adhered to
  • We are looking for someone to carry out team briefings with teams on a monthly basis; coaching and developing repair and maintenance teams to reach their potential
  • We are looking for someone to complete Team Inspections ensuring a high level of Compliance with a real focus on quality and right first-time operational delivery
  • We are looking for someone to be a Health & Safety Representative; undertaking health & safety inspections in and around the workplace, raising health and safety related matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents as and when they occur

Experience and Qualifications

  • Relevant Qualifications in relation to the work being carried out i.e. NRWSA at supervisory level
  • Health & Safety qualification an advantage
  • Experience of working in Utilities
  • Supervisor Street works qualification
  • Deep Excavation knowledge and experience
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good management skills
  • Financial and commercial awareness
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • First Aid at Work
  • Abrasive Wheels
  • Manual Handling
