At Network Plus, our Shut Off Controllers play a key role in keeping critical water network operations running safely and efficiently across the rehab contract. Acting as the central coordination point for planned shutoffs, you’ll monitor live outages in real time, liaise with operational teams and turnkeys, ensure all risk assessments and compliance checks are in place, and help minimise disruption for customers and the wider network. This is a fast-paced, operationally focused role suited to someone organised, proactive, and confident managing multiple moving parts while maintaining high standards of safety, communication, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all live planned shutoffs across the rehab contract, ensuring safe, compliant, and timely delivery.
  • Contact and confirm shutoff requirements with operational teams/turnkeys prior to works commencing, identifying any cancellations, amendments, or risks.
  • Issue the correct Risk Assessment (RA) documentation to the competent person in advance of planned shutoffs, ensuring all operational steps and controls are clearly communicated.
  • Verify that the correct, in‑date RA is present on site prior to isolation activities commencing.
  • Confirm pre‑site checks have been completed and approved.
  • Monitor shutoff progress in real time, maintaining regular communication with field teams throughout the duration of the outage.
  • Escalate delays or potential overruns.
  • Ensure shutoff start and restoration times are accurately recorded and communicated in line with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and timely updates within company works management and shutoff tracking systems.
  • Provide daily and weekly operational updates and reports as required.
  • Ensure all health, safety, compliance, and customer‑related concerns are reported and managed in line with company procedures.
  • Provide a positive and proactive contribution to the operational team, supporting continuous improvement and problem solving.
