As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will be at the heart of our commercial team—driving insights, shaping decisions, and helping keep projects on track. You will dive into cost and project data, turn it into meaningful management reports, and deliver weekly performance updates that influence how we operate. You will also play a key role in reviewing and processing subcontractor applications, ensuring our commercial activity runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and monitoring of work activities carried out against the pre‑determined schedule, the number of items supplied and costs
  • Monitoring of staff, labour and plant hire rates utilised on the contract; compiling monthly reports and managing cost allocation
  • Organising and tracking the procurement of sub‑contractors
  • Being responsible for the preparation and internal governance authorisation of subcontractor payments
  • Assisting in the placing of subcontract tasks orders in accordance with the main contract
  • Attending operational & subcontractor meetings; monitoring subcontractors against programme
  • Assisting in the preparation of client and subcontract final accounts
  • Ensuring the risk register and change register is kept up to date
  • Supporting the monitoring of internal expenditure against budget / cost plans and maximise the efficiency of reporting techniques and systems

Experience and Qualifications

  • Curious, driven graduates with a collaborative mindset, a willingness to learn and a desire to make an impact
  • Final‑year students or recent graduates with a role‑related degree (2:2 or above)
  • Full UK driving licence (some travel)
  • Individuals who want responsibility early and enjoy learning by doing
  • Must have graduated within the last two years
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong commercial acumen
