Join Network Plus as an Apprentice CAD Technician and take the first step into a career in design and engineering within the utilities sector. Working alongside experienced designers, you’ll support the production of technical drawings and plans for water infrastructure projects, learning how to use AutoCAD and industry design standards in a real-world environment.

You’ll gain hands-on experience producing overview, scope, and as-laid drawings, supporting site investigations, reviewing STAT plans, and assisting with private land and notice plan drawings. This role is ideal for someone organised, detail-focused, and eager to build technical skills while developing an understanding of the UK water industry and engineering design processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Private Land Drawing (Land Referencing, Section 6, Section 159 & Section 168 Notice Plans)
  • Site Investigation Drawings (Trial Hole/Coupon Cut/Sample Cut)
  • Completing Overview Drawings / Scope Drawings
  • Producing detailed design & as-laid drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with the client's asset design standards and procedures.
  • Support the design team by creating high-quality detailed technical drawings, plans and general arrangements.
  • Produce CAD plans using operational mark-up sketches
  • Support the design team by completing basic administrative tasks
  • Requesting & reviewing STAT plans
Experience and Qualifications
  • Keen to learn relevant Engineering specifications that apply to the water industry
  • Enthusiastic about developing AutoCAD skills
  • Competent in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to work as part of a team
