As a Credit Control Manager, you will support the Head of Commercial and the wider Commercial team implementing processes, managing process compliance, driving efficiencies and cost control, and cash collection. This role will see you working alongside the Commercial Managers and Regional Managers completing the below key responsibilities within the Sales Administration and Credit Control Administration functions.
Location: Worsley
Compensation: £40,000 - £45,000 / year
Working Hours: Most people in this team either work 7 am – 4 pm or 8 am – 5 pm. One day working from home is an option once up to speed with the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Credit control team.
- Oversee the onboarding of new clients ensuring the full process is adhered to.
- Accountable for ensuring client credit limits are set (via Adequate Credit Safe Checks), monitored and risks highlighted to the commercial team.
- Manage credits including monitoring DOA compliance.
- Ensure all client invoices and statements are saved and distributed on a weekly basis.
- Conduct weekly cash collection and aged debt calls with the wider business to drive cash collection and allocate actions as required.
- Responsible for overall cash collection of invoice clients and support the Commercial team in cash collection for AFP accounts.
- Track cash collection vs forecast against all clients.
- Ensure client invoice queries are dealt with timely, efficiently and determine root cause analysis.
- Ensure cash allocation and, where required, account reconciliations are complete.
- Manage daily banking, reporting cash received.
- Provide commercial and ad hoc financial reporting.
- Produce weekly aged debt summaries.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in utilities, traffic management, plant or construction sectors is preferable.
- CICM/AAT qualified or working towards this or a similar qualification is preferable.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, ideally with formulas, look‑ups and pivot tables.
- Very customer focused, able to engage with both internal and external clients.
- Experience with Sage and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferable.
