We are recruiting for an experienced Cisco Network Security Engineer to join an established managed services team supporting several key customers. This is a remote, home-based role with occasional travel to customer sites. You will provide senior-level support and deliver projects across Cisco network and security environments, with a particular focus on Cisco Secure Firewall/FTD, Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA Center/Catalyst Center. If you are a CCNP-certified engineer who enjoys resolving complex network security issues, supporting different customer environments and delivering Cisco projects, this could be the role for you.
Key responsibilities
- Provide senior-level support across a range of Cisco network and security environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving Cisco Secure Firewall/FTD, ISE and DNA Center/Catalyst Center
- Manage incidents, service requests and problems in line with customer SLAs
- Act as an escalation point for high-priority network and security incidents
- Support firewall policies, VPNs, access control, authentication and network segmentation
- Diagnose issues across Cisco routing, switching, wireless and security technologies
- Complete root cause analysis and clearly document technical resolutions
- Deliver and support Cisco network security projects
- Work closely with customers, Cisco and third-party suppliers
- Mentor junior members of the technical team
- Participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota
- Provide occasional onsite support when required
Essential experience
- Current Cisco CCNP certification
- Previous experience in a senior Network Engineer or Network Security Engineer position within a service provider or MSP environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Secure Firewall/Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
- Good working knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), including authentication, access policies and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting or administering Cisco DNA Center/Catalyst Center
- Strong Cisco routing and switching knowledge
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues across customer network environments
- Previous involvement in delivering Cisco network or security projects
- Strong customer-facing, communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote position
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally
