Role overview: As a Senior Account Manager at Go Places, you will be responsible for the commercial success of some of our largest and most important brands. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the key external stakeholders at the brand, meeting with them regularly and acting as their main point of contact at Go Places. You will also represent the brand internally, ensuring that the content we produce aligns with their strategy, brand ethos and tone of voice. Crucially, you will own brand budgets, working closely with our revenue acceleration team to decide how to deploy marketing funds to maximise performance. You will need to develop an understanding of the financial side of Social Commerce to deliver profitable growth for both Go Places and the brand themselves. You will analyse your brands’ key performance metrics regularly and propose changes to your strategy based on your findings. You will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy and to act as an informal coach and mentor for some of our more junior team members.
Core responsibilities:
- Grow brands on Social Commerce: Develop and implement strategies to increase brand visibility, sales, and market share on Social Commerce platforms, with a primary focus on TikTok Shop. Partner with internal subject matter experts across Paid Advertising, Live Shopping and Affiliate Marketing to optimise sales performance. Plan regular, co-ordinated promotional campaigns (e.g. Black Friday Cyber Monday) across all Social Commerce revenue levers to provide important boosts in sales. Act as the voice of the brand internally at Go Places, guiding a team of Social Commerce specialists to deliver a growth strategy tailored to your client.
- Own client relationships: Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact. Understand client goals, expectations, and preferences to tailor services and strategies accordingly. Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates, gather feedback, and address any concerns or questions. Collaborate with clients to develop a deep understanding of their brand, products, and market positioning.
- Manage key financial metrics: Take ownership of the brand Profit and Loss (P&L) statement, monitoring and analysing financial performance. Set and manage budget allocations for advertising, promotions, and other marketing activities to maximize ROI. Track and report on key financial metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements within the P&L to ensure profitability targets are met.
Who you are:
- Naturally commercial and results-driven. You’re someone that would be excited by having ambitious sales targets.
- Highly analytical. You enjoy turning data (including financial metrics) into actionable insights. You’re able to use data to tell compelling stories.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You would be comfortable presenting to and sometimes having hard conversations with external clients.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. You’re the type of person that would be energised by working on a vague, unstructured problem that no one in the company has thought about before.
- Independent. You’re happy to operate without lots of managerial oversight. You know your manager is there whenever you need them for guidance, but you are happy to mostly set the direction for your projects yourself.
Essential qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years’ experience across commercial and analytical roles, ideally mostly working on consumer brands and products.
- Significant experience owning budgets and/or being responsible for the financial performance of a client or program.
- Experience managing external client relationships.
Preferred qualifications:
- Existing knowledge, understanding and experience of selling on Social Commerce platforms (primarily TikTok Shop).
- Experience working at an early-stage start-up.
