We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to guide our team towards achieving sales and KPI targets while delivering unparalleled customer service.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in running all store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets.
- Set clear sales goals, track performance and evolve processes to drive continuous store growth.
- Recruit, train and develop staff, fostering a positive team culture.
- Analyze sales data and financial reports to make data‑driven decisions alongside the Store Manager.
- Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
- Manage day‑to‑day operations including opening and closing procedures.
- Support cash management tasks such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding and training new employees.
- Provide feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
- Help maintain colleague schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives & KPI’s
- Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store’s monthly sales target.
- Drive additional KPIs: Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT and upselling or cross‑selling targets.
- Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
- Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
- Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
- Ensure employee satisfaction and engagement survey results meet or exceed company benchmarks.
- Assist in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast‑paced retail/customer‑facing environment.
- Passionate about retail and knowledgeable about the latest trends and competitors.
- Experience coaching and developing individuals.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPI’s.
- Experience analysing KPI data to make commercial decisions.
- Keen eye for detail and commerciality.
- Previous experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
