Purpose of the Role: The purpose of this role is to manage the price change and promotion process systematically and provide critical support to the Commercial Operations Manager in delivering retail projects. Responsible for planning and pricing & promotions, you will ensure pricing accuracy and the smooth execution of promotional activity across JD Outdoors. This involves working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, and Retail Operations teams to maintain system integrity, manage critical paths, and deliver operationally feasible price changes. Acting as a key link between central commercial operations and the wider business, the role also contributes to reducing loss, improving stock accuracy, and driving process enhancements.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage critical path for Pricing and promotions
- Maintain system price file, working with buying, merchandising and marketing teams
- Monitor pricing and promotions issues and act speedily to resolve
- Work with Retail Ops to ensure price change volume is deliverable from an operational perspective
- Manage and maintain the label pricing system, and work on any necessary enhancements with relevant stakeholders
- Supporting the Central Commercial Operations Manager to deliver key retail projects on time and to budget
- Liaise with the wider business and represent the Outdoor division in group projects
- Work with Retail team to reduce loss and improve stock accuracy
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
- Fully literate in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- Comfortable with presenting to or working with senior colleagues
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills required
- Good knowledge of store process and procedure
- Commercially astute
- Logical Thinker
- Ability to establish and maintain trust and support of management and colleagues
- Ability to plan, organise and execute workloads efficiently, whilst working to strict deadlines and budgets
- Demonstrate skill in the decision-making process
- Able to evidence core Project Management skills
