Who Are We

Go-Ahead London is the capital’s largest bus operator, employing over 8,000 colleagues across 17 garages and Head Office, mainly in South East, South West, North East, and East London. We are an award-winning company with a well-regarded industry reputation. Most of our colleagues are professional Bus Drivers, and we operate a quarter of London’s iconic red bus network on behalf of Transport for London (TfL), using 2,450 vehicles.

Our Recruitment & Training department plays a key role in supporting our operational locations by recruiting and training sufficient drivers to maintain our high service standards.

Responsibilities

Who are we looking for:

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Receptionist to job share at our busy Recruitment & Training Academy in Camberwell. The main responsibility of this role is to provide a friendly and professional welcome to all visitors. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and registering visitors, managing their arrival efficiently alongside colleagues during training courses and recruitment events.
  • Answering telephone enquiries politely and managing the shared recruitment mailbox.
  • Ensuring visitors are aware of health & safety emergency procedures on site.
  • Handling all incoming and outgoing post, both internal and external.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy reception area and lobby.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must communicate effectively, be computer literate, and possess a smart, professional manner. We are looking for two individuals who can work well independently.

Previous experience in reception duties or roles involving face-to-face interaction is desirable. Full training will be provided.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, either 07:00 to 11:45 or 11:45 to 16:30. Flexibility regarding start and finish times is required to meet business needs. Weekend work may occasionally be necessary.

The salary is £14.57 per hour based on an average 22-hour week for each shift. Applicants should specify their preferred shift.

We offer benefits including a pension scheme, 25 days’ holiday, and a travel pass for London Buses and the Tube Network.
