Go-Ahead London is the capital’s largest bus operator, and we employ the overwhelming number of our 8,000 people at 17 garages, mostly in South East, South West, North East and East London. An award-winning company with a well-regarded industry reputation, we have opened three new garages in the last five years and run a quarter of London’s iconic red bus network on behalf of Transport for London (TfL) using 2,450 vehicles.
Responsibilities
We are now looking to recruit a Senior Vehicle Engineer, with an electrical background, to be based at our New Cross garage, and we are looking for someone who will strive to provide reliable and effective maintenance so we can ensure that we are able to deliver a reliable service that people can trust, and which helps to create a London where every journey is taken care of.
We are looking for a ‘can do’ individual who is open and approachable, is happy and comfortable working with a team but is able to be forward looking and both flexible and adaptable to the changing business demands.
Qualifications
Ideally you should be qualified to City & Guilds level 3 or NVQ level 3 or equivalent and have experience working on HGV or PCV vehicles. Additionally, applicants are required to hold a PCV licence. If the applicant does not hold a PCV licence, training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be required to work early and late shifts Monday - Friday (38 hours a week).
