Go-Ahead London is the largest bus company in the capital. We employ over 8,000 staff operating approximately 2400 buses from our 17 depots in South, North and East London. We are looking to expand our dedicated team of commercial drivers that work on our Private Hire and commercial activities such as contract work, rail replacement duties as well as major events. We are interested in hearing from existing PCV licence holders who are looking for variety in their role as a bus driver and are able to work in the Folkestone area.
We currently have vacancies in our Commercial department for Casual Drivers in Folkestone. We are looking to recruit from amongst existing drivers at all locations, and we will also be looking at the possibility of external PCV holders who may wish to apply. We have various opportunities which consist of either rail replacement activities or other commercially operated services, an element of TfL service work may also be available. Casual Contract/Private Hire Drivers will be paid Β£21.40 per hour. EU driving regulation knowledge and record keeping would be advantageous.
Owing to the type of work involved, we are looking for conscientious, well-motivated individuals capable of working under pressure to achieve the high standards of courtesy, driving skills and flexibility expected by our commercial customers.
For internal applicants, you should have a good work and driving record, free from blameworthy accidents and customer complaints for 2 years. External applicants must provide suitable references and where appropriate, the Licence for London documents from current or previous employers. You will need to be ultimately flexible and accept changes, as the nature of the business can generate alterations to your allocated work, sometimes at short notice.

- Ensuring that your bus is fit for service at the start of your duty
- Ensuring that passengers have the correct means to travel for their journey
- Maintaining the schedule on the route
- Comply with company rules and regulations
- Good understanding of driver hours regulations (including EU drivers hours regulations)
Qualifications
- Current UK category D (PCV) entitlement (Required)
- No more than 6 Penalty points on your licence (contact us before applying if you have had a Drink/Drive conviction)
- Able to meet the DVLA medical standards to hold a PCV (category D entitlement) licence
- Numerate, literate, and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- The right to live/work in the United Kingdom
