About the Role
We are looking to recruit a solicitor with 0–3 years post-qualification experience to join our established and respected Court of Protection team. Candidates with significant post-qualification experience may appropriately be considered for an associate position. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer seeking to build a specialist practice in welfare proceedings and develop a meaningful legal career representing vulnerable individuals.
You will be expected to manage your own caseload of Court of Protection (welfare) cases , primarily s.21A applications with a small number of s.16 cases , with minimal supervision . Experience of mental capacity and best interests’ issues is essential, and while supervision experience or complex s.16 casework is not required, it would be advantageous.
This is a fantastic role for a conscientious, driven and organised individual looking to develop their profile in this area of law. You’ll be working alongside colleagues recognised in Chambers & Partners and will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of junior staff as your experience grows. For those with up to 3 years’ PQE, we are particularly keen to meet candidates who are ambitious, team-focused, and eager to progress within the firm.

We are Lexcel accredited and hold Legal Aid contracts in mental health and community care. Our Court of Protection team primarily represents P in welfare cases . We are often instructed by the Official Solicitor , and we also act for family members.

What We’re Looking For
·Qualified solicitor with 0–3 years PQE
·Experience handling Court of Protection welfare cases (s.21A essential; s.16 desirable)
·Excellent organisation, drafting and communication skills
·A collaborative, team-focused approach
·An interest in supervising and mentoring junior staff over time
·Passion for social justice and commitment to supporting vulnerable clients
·Previous experience supervising others
·Chambers or Legal 500 recognition, or an ambition to attain such
·Experience handling complex s.16 cases
