This is a hands-on data investigation and foundation-building engagement, not just a reporting role. You'll work across multiple business systems to investigate data issues, reconcile discrepancies, identify root causes, and establish a clean, trusted data layer that supports Power BI reporting and business decision-making.

We're looking for a strong Data Analyst with excellent SQL and Power BI skills who enjoys solving complex data problems. Experience working with CRM, ERP, or other enterprise systems is beneficial, with Salesforce experience considered an advantage rather than a requirement.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Audit and reconcile data across multiple business systems to identify mismatches and inconsistencies.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies, tracing issues back to business processes, system configurations, or integration issues.
  • Analyse and cleanse customer, product, and transactional data to resolve duplicates, incomplete records, and inconsistencies.
  • Develop complex SQL queries to investigate, validate, and reconcile data across multiple data sources.
  • Map data flows between systems and document where data quality issues occur.
  • Identify process and governance gaps that contribute to poor data quality.
  • Build and deliver Power BI dashboards using a clean and validated data layer.
  • Recommend improvements to master data management across products, customers, and accounts.
  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to agree on data definitions, business rules, and data ownership.
  • Produce clear documentation including data mappings, business definitions, and data quality findings.

Essential Skills:

  • Advanced SQL including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, reconciliation queries, and performance optimisation. (Must Have)
  • Power BI development including data modelling, DAX, report development, dashboard creation, and publishing. (Must Have)
  • Strong experience investigating data quality issues across multiple data sources.
  • Root cause analysis and data lineage investigation.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, HubSpot, or similar.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Understanding of quote-to-cash, customer, product, or master data processes.
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, and data dictionaries.
  • Experience with ETL or integration tools such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, or Azure Data Factory.
  • Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Exposure to Snowflake, Azure SQL, Synapse, Databricks, or similar cloud data platforms.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Enjoys investigating data problems and identifying their root causes.
  • Can distinguish between data quality issues, process gaps, and system issues.
  • Is comfortable working with ambiguity and defining problems through analysis.
  • Has experience improving data quality, not just producing reports.
  • Takes ownership of issues and provides practical, actionable recommendations.
  • Communicates effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.

Deliverables:

  • Cross-system data reconciliation report with documented discrepancies and root causes.
  • Prioritised list of data quality issues and recommendations.
  • Process gap assessment with improvement recommendations.
  • Cleaned and validated data layer ready for reporting.
  • Power BI dashboards built on a trusted and validated data foundation.
  • Data dictionary and field mapping documentation across business systems.
