Job Purpose To manage the financial and contractual aspects of projects, including procurement, invoicing, and payments, while minimising costs, maximising value, and optimising cash flow.

To prepare competitive tenders through accurate measuring and rate calculation, monitor commercial performance, and collaborate with operational teams to achieve profit targets and secure additional works where possible.

  • Measure and prepare successful cost estimates to win new work.
  • Review contract and tender documents, highlighting commercial risks.
  • Lead contract planning and work closely with operational teams to meet profit expectations.
  • Prepare cost value reconciliations, identify commercial risks and opportunities, and manage them effectively.
  • Source and secure materials, plant, and subcontractors in line with budgets and company procedures.
  • Agree and issue productivity targets before project start.
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers on scoping, operational requirements, and work queries.
  • Analyse and report variances to contract budgets on a weekly basis.
  • Review weekly site reports to ensure accurate cost information and propose corrective actions.
  • Liaise with clients to authorise variations and manage payment processes.
  • Manage the billing process to minimise work in progress and optimise cash flow.
  • Ensure all contract costs align with value and maintain appropriate accruals.
  • Produce monthly cost value reconciliations in line with company policy.
  • Update systems and maintain accurate commercial records for audit purposes.
