We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme in Somerset. Working alongside the Quality Management Lead, you will support the implementation of quality assurance and quality control activities across project delivery, manufacturing, inspection and supply chain operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer with experience in regulated engineering environments who is looking to join a high-profile, long-term project.
Key Responsibilities
- Support quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) activities across the project
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of PQCPs and CQAPs
- Support manufacturing surveillance and inspection activities
- Assist with NCR management, investigations and close-out actions
- Monitor quality performance and support quality reporting and KPI metrics
- Work closely with project teams and supply chain partners to ensure quality requirements are met
- Analyse quality data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Support compliance with project quality standards and procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, Project Quality Engineer or similar
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, construction or infrastructure projects
- Understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles
- Experience supporting NCR management and corrective actions
- Ability to analyse information, prepare reports and communicate findings effectively
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritise workload
Desirable Experience
- Nuclear, defence, power generation, energy, rail, aerospace or other regulated industry experience
- Manufacturing surveillance, supplier quality or inspection experience
- Knowledge of welding, NDT or NDE activities
- Familiarity with quality plans, inspection plans and compliance processes
- Professional quality qualifications or memberships
- Lean Six Sigma awareness or quality improvement experience
Qualifications
- HNC, HND or Degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline
- Equivalent industry experience will also be considered
