Location: Main base Partington Youth Centre, M31 4FA (Will be based from Melland Youth Centre, M18 7TB late 2026 / early 2027)

Contract: Permanent position, Full Time. Hours: 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday

Join Greater Manchester Youth Federation (GMYF)—a long-established charity running vibrant youth centres across Greater Manchester. We’re dedicated to raising aspirations and creating opportunities for young people, especially those facing disadvantage, through exciting activities, outreach, and outdoor adventures. Our approach champions youth voice, inclusion, and building confidence and resilience. We offer outdoor education, including residentials at our own Ormside Mill site in Cumbria and other sites nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Central Team and Centre Managers
  • Coordinate meetings and events including rooms, equipment, and refreshments
  • Support planning and delivery of organisational and centre-based events
  • Act as point of contact for operational administration queries
  • Maintain a professional front‑of‑house service
  • Manage incoming calls and central mailbox
  • Respond to routine enquiries and elevate complex issues
  • Prepare documents, maintain filing systems and correspondence
  • Support Centre Managers and Youth Work Coordinators with admin requests
  • Log and track maintenance requests for all centres
  • Coordinate contractors and caretaker / estates maintenance services for all centres
  • Maintain facilities records and updates
  • Monitor stock levels of supplies and equipment at Partington Youth Centre (Melland Youth Centre once open)
  • Raise purchase requests for all centres and liaise with Finance team
  • Coordinate deliveries and distribution
  • Maintain HR records: annual leave / sickness / TOIL
  • Support onboarding and inductions
  • Maintain DBS, safeguarding and training records
  • Follow organisation‑wide administrative processes and procedures
  • Ensure consistency across centres of policies and procedures
  • Suggest improvements to processes
  • Build positive relationships across teams

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • At least 3 years’ experience in an administrative or business support role
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft 365 systems
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
  • Willing and able to travel and work from our other centres
  • Experience of basic HR processes e.g. recruitment, contracts, record‑keeping, sickness records

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Experience in a charity, education, or community setting
  • Experience in facilities or estates administration
  • Experience or knowledge of Bright HR system and Worknest H&S system
