Expanding international leisure group based in Richmond, Surrey (office based 4 days per week) is looking to hire an Assistant Accountant for their finance team on a permanent basis. The role involves supporting the finance team in a range of reporting, controlling and general accounting tasks along with various other ad hoc responsibilities. The position is varied and will offer an increased scope of work as the individual progresses.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain sales and purchase ledger
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Processing payments
- VAT returns
- Review of payroll journals
- Processing expenses
- Help with the administration of Xero
- Assist in the preparation of budgets
- General financial admin tasks when required
Candidate requirements:
- 1-4 years of previous finance experience
- Ideally a graduate with a finance or accounting degree
- Previous experience of reconciliations essential
- Ideally somebody looking to study ACCA or CIMA
- Excellent Excel skills
- Knowledge of Xero is highly advantageous
- Ability to hit the ground running
- Outgoing and enthusiastic
- Willing to learn and keen to develop
- Organised and able to meet various weekly/monthly deadlines
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- Versatile, flexible and has attention to detail
