GMP Recruitment are proud to be supporting a highly respected Worcester based law firm for an experienced and commercially driven Head of Corporate Law to lead its expanding corporate department, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This is a senior strategic position, combining high-level legal expertise with leadership and client development responsibilities.
To be considered for this position you must be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant PQE (5 years +) in corporate law and possess expert negotiation skills.
You will play a key role in shaping the firm's corporate practice, advising on complex transactions, and building long-term relationships with corporate clients across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all corporate law matters, with emphasis on M&A transactions
- Advise clients on acquisitions, disposals, restructuring, and joint ventures
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial and transactional agreements
- Manage due diligence processes and transaction structuring
- Develop and grow the corporate client portfolio
- Supervise and mentor junior solicitors and associates
- Work closely with partners on strategic firm development
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant PQE in corporate law
- Strong track record in mergers and acquisitions (mid-market or above preferred)
- Proven leadership or team management experience
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and client-facing skills
- Commercially minded with strong business development capability
- Ability to manage high-value, complex transactions under pressure
