GMP Recruitment are proud to be supporting a highly respected Worcester based law firm for an experienced and commercially driven Head of Corporate Law to lead its expanding corporate department, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This is a senior strategic position, combining high-level legal expertise with leadership and client development responsibilities.

To be considered for this position you must be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant PQE (5 years +) in corporate law and possess expert negotiation skills. You will play a key role in shaping the firm’s corporate practice, advising on complex transactions, and building long-term relationships with corporate clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all corporate law matters, with emphasis on M&A transactions
  • Advise clients on acquisitions, disposals, restructuring, and joint ventures
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial and transactional agreements
  • Manage due diligence processes and transaction structuring
  • Develop and grow the corporate client portfolio
  • Supervise and mentor junior solicitors and associates
  • Work closely with partners on strategic firm development
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant PQE in corporate law
  • Strong track record in mergers and acquisitions (mid-market or above preferred)
  • Proven leadership or team management experience
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and client-facing skills
  • Commercially minded with strong business development capability
  • Ability to manage high-value, complex transactions under pressure
