An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Solicitor to join a well-established and highly regarded Care Department based in Bromsgrove.

This role offers the opportunity to handle a varied and rewarding caseload of public and private children law matters, working closely with vulnerable clients and making a genuine difference to families and children's lives.

The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team environment, undertaking a significant amount of advocacy while managing their own caseload of complex care proceedings from instruction through to conclusion.

Key Responsibilities Managing a diverse caseload of public and private children law matters, including complex care proceedings.

Representing parents, children, guardians, and other parties in care and family proceedings.

Conducting a high level of advocacy, including attendance at Court hearings and contested matters.

Providing clear, practical, and empathetic legal advice to clients throughout their matter.

Preparing cases effectively, including drafting legal documents, witness statements, and Court applications.

Working closely with clients, Counsel, experts, local authorities, and other stakeholders.

Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal procedures.

Managing deadlines effectively while maintaining exceptional standards of client care.

Contributing positively to a supportive team culture and assisting with the continued development of the department.

Candidate Requirements Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE.

Significant experience handling both public and private children law matters.

Strong advocacy skills with the confidence to represent clients at Court.

Ability to manage a varied caseload independently while working collaboratively within a team.

Excellent communication, organisational, and client care skills.

Professional, approachable, and empathetic manner when dealing with vulnerable clients.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.

Desirable Law Society Children Law Accreditation.

Eligibility to meet Legal Aid Agency Supervisor requirements.

Candidates actively working towards Children Panel Accreditation or Supervisor Status are also encouraged to apply.
