The Opportunity

GMP Recruitment are partnering with a highly regarded, international professional services and advisory organisation to recruit a Senior Associate within its Restructuring & Insolvency team in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced restructuring or insolvency professional looking to join a technically strong team and take greater ownership for the progression and management of a varied portfolio of cases.

The successful individual will work within a specialist case progression function, responsible for ensuring restructuring and insolvency cases are progressed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

The position would particularly suit an experienced Senior Insolvency Administrator, Senior Associate or Assistant Manager looking for greater responsibility and a clear route for continued professional development.

The Role

You will take ownership of an allocated portfolio of cases, working alongside colleagues across the wider restructuring practice to ensure statutory requirements, case objectives and deadlines are successfully delivered.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing key case progression workstreams across a portfolio of restructuring and insolvency assignments.
  • Taking responsibility for compliance, claims management, stakeholder engagement and regulatory reporting.
  • Monitoring case objectives and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently towards closure.
  • Coordinating with wider operational and offshore teams, reviewing outputs for quality, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Preparing statutory correspondence, notices and other case documentation.
  • Drafting reports to creditors and other stakeholders using appropriate templates and technical guidance.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring key statutory deadlines are achieved.
  • Liaising with creditors, stakeholders and internal teams throughout the lifecycle of an assignment.
  • Ensuring cases comply with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of case management and progression processes.
  • Continuing to develop your own technical restructuring and insolvency knowledge.

About You

We are looking for an individual with a strong grounding in restructuring, insolvency, financial analysis or a closely related advisory environment.

Ideally, you will demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant professional experience.
  • Previous exposure to restructuring, insolvency, recoveries or financial advisory work.
  • Strong understanding of case progression and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confidence managing multiple cases, deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of your workload.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

CPI qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Candidates currently working within an insolvency practice, accountancy firm, restructuring consultancy or specialist advisory business are particularly encouraged to apply.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join a major international advisory organisation with a highly established restructuring practice and excellent technical expertise.

The position offers exposure to a broad portfolio of work alongside experienced restructuring professionals, with continued technical training and professional development available.

For somebody currently operating at Senior Administrator or Senior Associate level, it also represents an excellent opportunity to step towards Assistant Manager responsibility within a sophisticated restructuring environment.

All enquiries and applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
