GMP Recruitment Agency Limited are proud to be partnered with an award winning, successful law firm in Birmingham. We are supporting their recruitment for an experienced Employment Solicitor (5–6 years PQE) to join our growing and highly regarded Employment team in Shirley, advising a diverse client base of businesses and individuals across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

The successful candidate will advise on a broad mix of employment law matters, working on high-quality, varied employment projects in a supportive, high-performing team.

Main duties:
  • Advising employers on disciplinary and grievance matters, restructures, redundancies, performance management and TUPE matters
  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims from instruction through to resolution
  • Drafting and negotiating employment contracts, policies, settlement agreements and wider employment documentation
  • Supporting corporate transactions with employment law advice and due diligence
  • Delivering commercially focused, strategic legal advice
  • Supporting business development activity including networking, seminars and client training initiatives
Required skills and experience:
  • 5–6 years’ PQE in Employment Law within a UK law firm
  • Strong technical experience across contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Experience managing your own caseload with confidence and minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, commercially aware approach
  • Strong drafting, organisation and analytical skills
  • A genuine team mindset and ambition to contribute to a growing practice
