GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a hugely successful and highly recognised leading international manufacturer located in Droitwich. We are recruiting on their behalf for a TIG Welder to join their team on a full time, permanent contract, to perform a welding operation in the repair of production castings and to blend welds to close tolerances. This position is working double days 05:45am – 14:00pm and 14:00pm – 22:00pm Monday to Friday. £15.50 per hour, (£31,434) plus shift allowance and overtime is available. Welder main duties: * Constantly perform and demonstrate the competency in ASME IX and BSEN/ISO9606 * Efficiently cap and seal shrink areas on castings by cap welding * Weld core holes and tooling points on production castings * Choose proper wire thickness for various applications * Weld uniform beads limiting the use of excess metal * Check casting walls with gauges to ensure they are within specifications * Choose proper amperage on minor repairs * Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas, gas metal arc, and plasma arc, TIG welding, stick welding, and brazing. * Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials. * Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications * Understanding the materials, how they are manufactured and the impact on the product Welder required skills and experience: * Previous welding experience (TIG welding) * Experience of working with metallic materials * Ability to work under high pressure * Good communication skills * Computer literate * Previous experience of working within casting, automotive, steel manufacturing or aeronautical industries * NVQ2/NVQ3 – fabrication and welding AN IMMEDIATE START IS AVAILABLE FOR THE AVAILABLE CANDIDATE If the above role sounds perfect for you, or you require more information, please click apply.
