GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a specialist UK manufacturer of friction materials based in Birmingham, who supply high-quality, niche products to a global customer base. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This position is based on-site and is offering a salary of up to Β£45,000 per annum, plus bonus scheme, dependant on experience. Our client operates a diverse and complex manufacturing facility involving wet impregnation of multi-ply textiles, dry chemical mixing, pressing, roll-forming, machining, and bonding. With a customer base spanning 70 countries and over 200 active clients, they require a technically minded sales professional who thrives in a consultative sales environment where building long-term relationships is key. Technical Sales Engineer Main Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain long-term business relationships with a global customer base. * Identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with strategic goals. * Provide comprehensive account management, acting as the key point of contact for assigned clients. * Prepare and manage quotations and commercial proposals. * Collaborate with technical and production teams to deliver accurate product costings. * Understand customer-specific applications for brake and clutch products. * Create and execute a yearly international travel plan as part of the wider sales strategy. * Participate in exhibitions and trade shows as both visitor and exhibitor. * Support digital marketing efforts to increase brand visibility and lead generation. Technical Sales Engineer required skills and experience: * Proven sales experience, preferably in a technical or manufacturing environment. * Background in engineering or production would be highly advantageous. * Strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. * Self-motivated, well-organised and driven with a proactive, βcan-doβ approach. * High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team. * Full UK Driving Licence is essential. * Knowledge of CRM systems, particularly Xapsys, would be beneficial.
