GMP Rcruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join a dynamic Worcestershire-based engineering business specialising in Defence, Rail, Automotive, and Agriculture sectors. The company offers a modern working environment with fabrication, assembly, and workshop facilities. You will be responsible for leading and managing the Production Engineering and Design departments, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet customer expectations on cost, quality, and delivery. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day management of Production Engineering and Design teams Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and development for engineering staff Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver best-in-class products and business practices Lead project management activities across product realisation and manufactureMonitor and report on Engineering KPIs Promote manufacturing excellence focused on cost, quality, and delivery Support operational teams in safe working, quality, and environmental standards Drive continual improvement initiatives across manufacturing and engineeringfunctions Lead design reviews ensuring compliance with regulatory and design requirements Manage engineering documentation, BOMs, delivery schedules, and customer specifications Act as primary engineering contact during project phases Develop innovative engineering and manufacturing solutions Support Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) programs and lean improvement projects Ensure robust validation and governance of BOMs and engineering change controls (ECN) Essential Requirements Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Engineering Project Manager role Strong knowledge of BS EN ISO standards, including BS 8888 Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings Experience in document and data control within customer-focused environments Effective communication and team leadership skills Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with minimal supervision Skilled in report writing, work instructions, process instructions, quality assurance, and safety Strong IT and data entry skills with attention to detail Proven problem-solving capabilities and confident decision-making Experience supporting CAPEX investments and lean continuous improvement Desirable Lean Six Sigma certification or experience Knowledge of NPI and product lifecycle management * Experience with BS EN ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 3834, EN 15085 standards Familiarity with Defence, Aerospace, Rail industries and associated standards (Def-Stan, Mil-Std, RIS) Membership or working towards membership of professional engineering institutions (e.g., IMechE, IET) Benefits Company pension Cycle to work scheme Free on-site parking Monday to Friday, Day shift GMP Recruitment is acting as an Employment Business on behalf of our client for this role.
