GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with one of the UK’s leading and fastest-growing manufacturers for the aerospace industry. We are supporting our client by recruiting for a highly motivated Production Planner to support and manage the team within our expanding aerospace division.
This is a Fixed Term Contract position (Maternity Cover) that can offer a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum plus excellent company benefits including 25 days holiday + bank holidays, life assurance, healthcare scheme, pension, employee assistance programme, retail discounts and 37.5 hours per week with an early finish on a Friday.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for owning and managing the clients view of supply and demand across all teams to create and maintain capacity plans for both production and cross-functionally for other departments within the business to include existing and planned projects.
Production Planner main duties:
- Own and maintain the overall Master Production Schedule (MPS), ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop, manage, and control scheduling processes for all supporting functions.
- Maintain and update departmental capacity profiles to support resource planning and efficiency.
- Lead the ERP scheduling function to ensure optimal stock levels, balancing supply chain and production requirements.
- Monitor adherence to production and functional schedules, escalating risks or delays where necessary.
- Conduct resource aggregation, scenario planning, and capacity modelling based on current and forecasted schedules to support effective resource management, levelling, management reporting, and skills gap analysis.
- Ensure that all relevant processes and procedures are fully documented within the Business Management System (BMS) and maintained in line with business updates and best practices.
Production Planner required skills and experience:
- Extensive experience in scheduling within a Production and Engineering environment.
- Strong proficiency with resource, schedule, and planning tools.
- Ability to simplify complex data sets into actionable management information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to propose and implement innovative solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Epicor Kinetic.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities and conflicting demands.
- Strong analytical mindset, capable of collating, interpreting, and presenting detailed data clearly and effectively.
- High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, precision, and continuous improvement.
