GMP Recruitment are proud to partner with a highly successful Manufacturer, delivering the highest quality metal products to the construction industry across the whole of the UK. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Amada Press Brake Setter/Operator to join their team located at their site in Kidderminster.
The position on offer is a full‑time permanent position, working 40.5 hours per week on a one‑week rotating shift pattern: Monday‑Thursday 07:30‑16:30, Friday 07:30‑15:00 (Late Shift), Monday‑Thursday 16:30‑02:00. This Amada Press Brake Setter/Operator position can offer an immediate start for the successful candidate, with a highly competitive basic salary of up to £28,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Perform health and safety checks on all guards before each shift.
- Ensure use of all correct PPE pertaining to the machine and area of work.
- Set up and operate the machine within the parameters of the user manual.
- Use the FMS tablets to sign on and off work in progress.
- Work closely with the Team Leader on the priority order schedule list.
- Conduct quality inspection checks of components produced, using calibrated measuring equipment, and highlight any shortages or non‑conformances to the Team Leader.
- Fold and form various products for the buildings and construction industry using various materials, keeping within the drawing tolerances.
- Liaise with the Team Leader to move completed work to the next operation.
- Change tools to suit material thicknesses and bend radius as per Amada tooling recommendations.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of the machine and general housekeeping of the area.
- Work within the standard operating procedures of the machine.
- Report directly to the Press Team Leader.
- Follow health & safety policy & procedures.
- Follow all company quality control systems.
- Follow all company health & safety policies.
- Perform frequent forward bending, standing, walking, and sustain long periods of standing.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience in the use of press brakes and ability to set up machines.
- Attention to detail and ability to read from CAD drawings.
- Ability to react in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with computer numerical control modules.
- Ability to meet the criteria for the pulmonary function test.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in the current work environment/conditions.
