GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a hugely successful, specialist manufacturer located in Bishops Frome. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Graduate Design Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent contract, onsite, Monday – Friday offering a salary of £28-30K.

The successful candidate will assist the Engineering department and provide technical support to the Sales and Production team, ensuring products and projects are manufacturable and all documentation is accurately maintained.

To be considered you must demonstrate proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar design software) and an understanding of manufacturing processes.

Graduate Design Engineer main duties:

* Assist the Engineering department with the design and prototyping of new products

* Generate accurate, manufacturable drawings for prototype manufacture

* Ensure new products comply with the required design and safety standards

* Carry out drawing changes to product drawings in line with company procedures

* Maintain drawing document change records in line with ISO 9001

* Assist/carry out in house testing of prototypes and production products

* Assist with the maintenance and creation of Bill of materials on ERP system

Graduate Design Engineer requires skills and experience:

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline (or equivalent demonstrable experience).

* Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar design software)

* Proficiency in Microsoft office applications

* An understanding of manufacturing processes

* Efficient communication skills with the confidence to liaise with stakeholders, third parties and colleagues at all levels

* Strong analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify and solve problems

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an open plan office environment

* Ability to multitask a varied workload with robust time-management skills

* Willingness to learn new skills and a can-do attitude

* The right to work in the UK

* A full UK driving licence
