GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with an award-winning residential property Legal Firm, located in Gloucester. We are currently supporting their recruitment for an experienced Lead Legal Cashier to join their team on a full-time, permanent contract. This position is working 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 09:00am – 17:00pm and you will receive a highly competitive salary, up to £40,000 based on experience, plus the opportunity for hybrid working following the completion of probation. A financial qualification (e.g. AAT or early-stage CIMA or equivalent qualification) would be desirable but is not essential. An early 2026 start is on offer.
Lead Legal Cashier main duties:- Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the legal cashiering function for the group, delivering an efficient, effective and accurate service.
- As an experienced hands-on legal cashier, you will be responsible for managing the cashiering team to ensure the smooth running of a best-in-class department.
- As Lead Cashier, you will act as a key contact for all internal stakeholders as well as for external clients, our banking partner and suppliers.
- You will help to maintain strict adherence to the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (“SARS”) and that the cashiering team’s knowledge and training is kept up to date.
- You will assist the Finance Manager with the month-end close process.
- Although this is a management role, there will be a requirement to work “on rota” to ensure appropriate cover for periods of annual leave and sickness.
- Previous legal finance experience.
- Experience in supporting the delivery of process change leading to standardisation and efficiency improvements in the legal cashiering environment.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules.
- Having led a successful team in a fast-paced environment.
