Do you have experience in automotive or large-scale machinery assembly and have telehandler experience? GMP Recruitment Agency Ltd are recruiting on behalf of our client in Evesham for an Electric Gate Assembler to join their growing and successful team on a full-time, permanent contract.
This role is primarily factory-based, with occasional travel to customer sites across the UK to assist with installations and servicing, so you need to have a full valid driving licence to be considered for this role. This position is working Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week, offering up to £13.50 p/h followed by 9 hours overtime (1.5 times basic hourly rate) depending on experience. Due to location, you MUST have your own transportation.
The successful candidate will be involved in the assembly of electric sliding and swing gates, automated barriers, and solar-powered access systems before they leave the factory, ensuring each product is built to a high standard of quality and reliability. Full training can be provided by our Senior Technicians, making this an excellent opportunity for someone mechanically minded who enjoys practical work and wants to develop valuable skills in electrical and access automation systems.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with a minimum of two years’ experience in automotive or large-scale machinery assembly with telehandler experience.
Electric Gate Assembler main duties:- Assemble electric sliding and swing gates within the factory environment
- Assemble automated barriers and solar-powered access systems
- Carry out electrical wiring and component fitting for gate automation systems
- Use hand and power tools for cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting components
- Read and follow technical drawings and assembly plans
- Prepare systems for dispatch and installation
- Occasionally travel to customer sites across the UK to assist with installations
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition
- Work closely as part of a small, skilled Gates & Access team
- Follow all health & safety procedures at all times
- Practical, hands-on individual with good mechanical aptitude
- Telehandler experience or valid FLT license
- Comfortable working in a workshop and factory environment
- Basic electrical understanding or willingness to learn
- Ability to use hand and power tools confidently
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to occasionally travel for site work
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced technicians
- Previous experience in a similar role (assembly, automation, electrical, construction, fabrication, or installation) is advantageous but not essential
