Our client is seeking an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 5 years' PQE to join its well-established Agriculture & Rural Affairs team.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative and forward-thinking firm renowned for delivering practical, commercially focused advice to clients throughout the region.

With the flexibility to work from Cheltenham, Pershore, Tewkesbury or Stratford-upon-Avon, you'll benefit from genuine autonomy, a high-quality caseload and clear opportunities for continued career progression.

The Role

You will manage a diverse and interesting caseload while acting as a trusted adviser to a broad range of rural clients, including farmers, landed estates, rural businesses, landowners and agricultural partnerships.

Your work is likely to include

  • Sales and acquisitions of farms, estates and agricultural land.
  • Agricultural and rural property transactions.
  • Farm business tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act matters.
  • Easements, rights of way and boundary disputes.
  • Renewable energy projects, including solar, battery storage and wind developments.
  • Strategic land and development agreements.
  • Rural diversification projects.
  • Agricultural partnership agreements and succession planning.
  • Landlord and tenant matters.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Private Client, Commercial Property and Corporate teams to provide a seamless service to clients.
  • Developing and maintaining long-standing client relationships through networking and business development activities.

About You

The successful candidate will have

  • A minimum of 5 years' PQE as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Previous experience advising on agricultural and rural affairs matters.
  • Strong technical knowledge with a commercial and pragmatic approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
  • A genuine interest in the rural sector and the challenges faced by farming and landowning clients.
  • A proactive attitude and enthusiasm for contributing to the continued success of the department.
