We're looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to lead our engineering function and play a key role in driving reliability, continuous improvement, and future growth across our manufacturing site.
Working closely with senior leadership, you'll develop and deliver the engineering strategy, lead a skilled engineering team, oversee capital projects, and ensure our assets are maintained to the highest standards while meeting all engineering and legal compliance requirements.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Lead, motivate, and develop the engineering team.
- Create and deliver the site's engineering strategy.
- Drive improvements in equipment reliability, maintenance performance, and engineering KPIs.
- Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
- Ensure full compliance with engineering legislation, food manufacturing standards, and statutory inspections.
- Lead CAPEX projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage engineering budgets, contractors, and supplier relationships.
- Maximise the use of the site's CMMS (Limble) to support maintenance planning and reporting.
About You
You'll have
- At least 5 years' experience leading an engineering team within the food and drink manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of food manufacturing engineering, legal compliance, and BRC Global Standards.
- Experience managing engineering budgets, maintenance strategies, and capital projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for continuous improvement and developing high-performing teams.
Desirable
- Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
- Experience within the dairy or cheese manufacturing sector.
