An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a well-established and growing organisation based in Shirley, Solihull. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a qualified finance professional who enjoys managing a busy finance function while developing and supporting a small office-based team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining robust financial controls, improving processes, and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department.
- Process and reconcile daily bank transactions, including maintaining invoice discounting schedules.
- Produce weekly and monthly sales invoices using Sage 50 and a workforce management system.
- Manage the purchase ledger and ensure accurate daily processing.
- Oversee credit control activities to support healthy cash flow.
- Complete monthly payroll reconciliations.
- Lead, mentor and develop junior members of the finance team.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across the business.
- Prepare and coordinate financial information for external auditors.
- Monitor and improve cash flow management.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.
You will be a proactive and commercially minded finance professional with excellent leadership and communication skills. You will be confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and enjoy driving continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA or equivalent).
- Previous experience with invoice discounting is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working within a busy, growing organisation.
- Demonstrable experience implementing and maintaining effective financial controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
