GMP Recruitment are proud to be supporting a highly respected Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners recognised law firm in the recruitment of an experienced Head of Team/Supervising Solicitor to lead their established Family Law team based in Woolwich. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Children Panel accredited Solicitor seeking a senior leadership role within a modern, progressive and growing multi-office practice.

Our client is seeking an ambitious and commercially aware Family Solicitor who can lead from the front, supervise and develop junior team members, and continue delivering an outstanding level of service across a varied childcare caseload.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a broad range of family and childcare matters whilst overseeing and developing the Woolwich Family Team. Role will include:

  • Managing public law children matters
  • Child protection cases
  • Special Guardianship Orders (SGO)
  • Adoption matters
  • Representation of Guardians, children, parents and extended family members
  • Conducting advocacy
  • Supervising and mentoring junior fee earners and support staff
  • Supporting the continued growth and development of the department

Candidate Requirements

To be considered, applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years PQE (Essential)
  • Children Panel Membership (Essential)
  • Strong advocacy experience
  • Experience across all aspects of childcare law
  • The ability to manage workloads independently and effectively
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • Previous supervisory experience or the desire to move into a leadership role
  • A following of work would be advantageous
