We are supporting their recruitment for an experienced Senior Associate Solicitor to join their Birmingham branch to play a pivotal role in a dynamic and ambitious practice, delivering high-quality, commercially focused legal advice to a broad and sophisticated client base.

This is an opportunity to work on a varied and engaging caseload spanning both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with a particular emphasis on Corporate Advisory work.

You will support clients on the employment aspects of business-critical transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, restructures, reorganisations and wider strategic change projects, alongside advising on day-to-day employment matters.

Main duties

  • You will manage complex matters such as Employment Tribunal claims, discrimination and whistleblowing issues, employee relations matters, contractual advice, policies, restructures and redundancies.
  • You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued success and growth of the team.
  • From the outset, you will be encouraged to play an active role in business development, client engagement and the development of junior colleagues, helping to shape the future direction of the practice.

Skills and Experience

  • We are seeking an experienced employment lawyer with at least 5 years’ PQE who has a strong background across both contentious and non-contentious employment law.
  • Significant experience advising on employment matters with a strong focus on Corporate Advisory and transactional support.
  • Experience handling employment elements of mergers and acquisitions, restructures, reorganisations and other business transformation projects.
  • A proven ability to manage Employment Tribunal claims and complex employee relations matters.
  • Strong knowledge of areas including disciplinary and grievance processes, discrimination, whistleblowing, contracts and employment policies.
  • The confidence to manage client relationships, take ownership of matters and provide commercially focused advice.
  • A proactive approach to supporting colleagues, mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development initiatives.
