GMP Recruitment Agency Limited are proud to be partnered with an award winning, successful law firm in Birmingham. We are supporting their recruitment for an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join a growing Dispute Resolution team.
The ideal candidate will have approximately 10+ years’ post-qualification experience; however, this is provided as a guide only and we welcome applications from individuals outside of this level who can demonstrate strong relevant expertise, capability and enthusiasm for the role. This is a full-time position and can be based in either the Birmingham City Centre or Shirley office. Our client offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements to support work-life balance.
About the Role
You will manage a varied and often high-value caseload of contentious probate matters while playing a key role in the continued development of the team’s offering. The role involves significant client engagement, and you will be expected to provide clear, practical and empathetic advice in often sensitive circumstances.
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong experience in contentious probate work, ideally with 10+ years’ PQE.
- Excellent client care skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and complex disputes with professionalism and empathy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in dealing directly with clients and referrers.
- A proactive approach to business development, networking and building relationships within the local market.
- Ideally ACTAPS qualified, although this is not essential.

- Proficiency in standard IT systems including Word, Excel, PDF software and case management systems.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Resilience and the ability to perform well under pressure while managing competing deadlines.
