Your role

As a Driver Trainer for GMFRS, you will support and lead the delivery of all elements of driver training. Successful candidates will deliver and plan training courses whilst developing tailored approaches to enhance driving skills and performance of individuals and groups. The ever-changing circumstances associated with training will require individuals to be flexible in their approach to meeting the demands of the service. Role holders will demonstrate and maintain competency in line with their acquired skill sets and qualifications, completing maintenance of competency (MOC) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) packages and training.

About you

Applicants must possess relevant qualifications and demonstrable experience in educational or vocational training, alongside operational driver training competencies.

  • NFCC Registered Emergency Response Driving Instructor and Examiner
  • Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) qualification
  • LGV Instructor qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in driver training, assessment, and development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High levels of organisation, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage workloads, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • A positive, adaptable, and professional attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and development
  • IOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety certification

Desirable qualifications and experience

  • LGV Delegated Examiner qualification
