As part of our ambitious programme, we are seeking an outstanding Remediation Acceleration Lead to drive forward delivery of the Greater Manchester Remediation Acceleration Plan, ensuring residents are safe and feel safe in their homes.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Protection, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of activity across Greater Manchester to accelerate remediation and improve building safety outcomes. You will:

  • Lead delivery of the Greater Manchester Remediation Acceleration Plan
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders and partners
  • Drive a multi-agency response across key stakeholders
  • Oversee complex and high-risk cases
  • Develop and embed policies, procedures and training
  • Manage performance, budgets and risk

Key responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Delivery
  • Lead cross-functional and multi-agency teams
  • Develop capability through coaching and mentoring
  • Deputise for the Head of Protection
Service Delivery & Partnership Working
  • Oversee remediation activity across Greater Manchester
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and regulatory partners
  • Lead enforcement approaches
  • Represent GMFRS at strategic forums
Performance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop annual delivery plans, relevant KPIs and performance metrics to effectively monitor progress of remediation across different schemes
  • Provide reports to senior leaders, the GM High Rise and Building Safety Strategic Oversight Group
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives

About you

  • Experienced leader within fire safety or regulatory environment
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Proven track record of partnership working
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualification Level 4 Fire Safety (or an equivalent regulatory discipline) essential.
